Im a big fan of Fell Stinger, a card I play in most of my creature-heavy black decks for the card draw, but the fact that its also a Zombie makes it even better in this deck

First was this card: While technically this can be clumped in the "+1/+1 as growth effect" category, I felt it was worthy to point out that this is the first "ooze," that is the first creature that grew not because of an effect but because of the passage of time
