It taps for one Blue mana, but deals one damage to you, which isn't great, but it's mostly used for its Threshold ability: Once you have Threshold, you can sacrifice it to draw and then discard three cards
(You expend 6 as you spend your sixth total mana to cast spells during a turn.) The value of X is calculated only once, as Pyreswipe Hawk's third ability resolves
They created silly moments and allowed players to get creative and make their own jokes, but the more impactful, mechanically relevant stickers were the ability and power/toughness stickers, which allowed you to permanently alter a creature
This is a very niche flicker card in this regard, but it doesn't have to be if included in the right deck
