Having access to this with cards like Sythis, Harvests Hand in the command zone means you cast an enchantment, draw a card, the enchantment enters, and you can play a land from your hand

It was used it MTGs early years to play 3- and 4-MV cards ahead of time, but now the main application is in storm engines to generate enough mana to play a card like Ad Nauseam or Dark Petition

Its still an awesome value creature though, so try to play a couple good ones for it to tutor

We just don't get viable 2-cost mana rocks very often, with the last universally playable one being Arcane Signet released 5+ years ago now
