I decided to  cut the swirls rather than paint them as it just looked so much better to when I tested a painted version

a fine gold glitter acrylic and plain black acrylic as well as pearlescent white for the dragons teeth

as well as 4mm American black walnut for the branch and white perspex for the base of the brooch
