The ILGWU union label that is affixed to the interior was in use from 1955 until 1963. The label reads Carol Robins with a graphic of a cocktail glass, so definitely, this dress was meant for cocktail parties. Carol Robins appears to have been a popular brand for party dresses through the 1950s and 60s, but I havent found any information on the company. The
