Aneroid Sphygmomanometer by Down Bros Ltd, London. Circa. 1920 SOLD the remaining two are titled:Aneroid Sphygmomanometer by Down Bros Ltd, London. Circa. 1920. This device was used to measure blood pressure by way of a cuff. This is a lovely early example of a revolutionary portable instrument which enabled an easier and more accurate measuring of blood pressure than the preceding mercurial manometer allowed. The instrument shows some signs of age to the casing but overall remains in a very good condition.
