“Prairie Home” was painted in 1978 and released as a print 30 years later to compliment Jon’s coffee table book written by Gail

then spent the next few minutes racing through the corn stubble on foot trying to capture this place on film

this barn was the last addition on the ranch and has been restored by the Black Hills Historic Preservation Trust

and is another scene Jon has revisited several times in his art

The early morning is the best time of the day there. Jon captured this Magic Light north of Wall as they were heading home one of those special mornings, after spending the night along Sage Creek.
