Weatherlight continued the run of fascinating, stylized artwork featured on cards in the prior two sets ( Mirage and Visions ), which always serve as a delicious dose of nostalgia for older Magic -heads out there (couldn't be me)

I wasnt too bothered by cards from other chapters getting mixed in and I suspect that this practice will return in future releases but I do like that these are all new cards for players to explore

Esper Sentinel pips both Archivist of Oghma and Deep Gnome Terramancer to a spot on this list, and its because the latter two cards both require opponents making deckbuilding decisions we cant control

Trying to control everything in cube as a blue white player has felt like juggling where each new set adds an extra ball (or whatever one chooses to juggle with, fruit?) into the mix
