After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured for 24 months in 50% new and 50% second fill 225L French Nevers oak barrels

Grapes are carefully selected from the best performing vineyards of the 2015 vintage and fermented in a variety of French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks

backed up with some ginger spice

and is credited by many with a good deal of the brand's success

The nose is brooding, dark bramble fruit, cassis, plum, incense and liquorice, it is still very tightly coiled, slowly offering cigar box, crushed stone and subtle oak spice. On the palate the wine is concentrated yet restrained with dark fruit flavours of pastille, mulberry and dark chocolate, all held in an intricate lattice of polished sleek grape tannin.
