A rare Egyptian White Faience Vessel, Hyksos Period, ca. 1600 BCE Jewelry - Rings that contrasts wonderfully against aThis rare thistleshaped vessel is executed in white faience and decorated in an umber pigment applied in vertical panels of zigzag motif. Directly beneath the lip is a narrow register of closely spaced vertical strokes, followed by a second band composed of zigzag ornament, a decorative schema seen in small faience wares of the Second Intermediate Period. The vessels refined form and pared ornament suggest it was intended as a votive or personal
