This medal belongs to the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception of the parish of Saint Martin d'Ainay in Lyon. It was a devotional object used by members of the confraternity, notable for its unusual shape and detailed relief work. Inscriptions in French surround both sides, typical of religious
