Fine cane-seated chair from Brudenell House, Bucks, in the manner of Gillows. Antique chest of drawers or a cosy spot forA handsome, well made chair with turned and reeded legs, a channel running round the square backrest, caned seat in excellent order, untouched since coming from a country house (see below for provenance). I've been told it's quite Gillows in style, although there's no stamp. I'm not sure of exact date so will just say 19th century, although it certainly looks and feels early, and caned seats became popular at the end of the 18th century. Evidence of
